There are many levels of canoeing trails, so both beginners and professionals will find suitable challenges. Lapland’s most famous canoeing trails with the gorgeous scenery of Lake Äkäsjärvi-Muoniojoki in Ylläs, the free-flowing Tornionjoki with its verdant landscape, the Norwegian Näätämö River route and the mighty Inari Lake in northern Lapland. The most famous canoeing location in Lapland, if not in all over Finland, is Muonio. Muonio is the “Mecca of Canoeists”, where you can find the wildest rivers in Europe: Könkämöeno, Lätäseno, Muonio, and Torniojoki, offering true experiences even for the most experienced canoeists. Muonio is one of the main stages in the “Arctic Canoe Race”, which is ranked as one of the toughest canoeing race in the world.
