Villa Olaf

Villa Olaf invites you to enjoy the nature of Lapland! This cabin, built in March 2024, is located in Ylläs, in the peaceful Nilivaara area of the village of Äkäslompolo. Its location, nestled along a ski trail and overlooking the lake, close to amenities, makes it perfect for a relaxing holiday throughout the year. This spacious semi-detached house accommodates 6 + 2 people and offers modern comforts and high-quality beds. Both downstairs bedrooms have double beds that can be arranged together or separately. The loft upstairs has beds for two and a wide Karup Design sofa bed with a futon mattress (130 cm). Additionally, there is a guest mattress available for use as a spare bed. The beds, duvets, and pillows are new and comfortable. A travel cot and other baby equipment are available for the little ones.

The loft has its own toilet and a lounge area for playing games and watching TV. Downstairs, alongside the two bedrooms, there are a living room, kitchen, sauna, bathroom, utility room, and two toilets. The cottage's interior design was done in collaboration with an interior designer, utilizing high-quality, mostly second-hand design items.

Ski trails as well as cycling and hiking trails start right from the property. The supermarket and other services are less than 2 km away. In winter you can reach the services by crossing the lake (1 km). The slopes are 4 km away, and the SkiBus stop is only 400 meters away. You can easily enjoy your stay here without a car! You can arrive by night train to Kolari (40 km) or by flying to Kittilä (50 km). Both locations have bus connections to Äkäshotelli, from where it's a short walk (appr. 1 km) or taxi ride to the cottage. If you arrive by electric car, there is a charging station available at the cabin.

In summer, there is a sandy-bottomed natural beach in front of the property, suitable for children. You can easily paddleboard from the beach with the cottage's own paddleboard. You also have access to a mountain bike with wider plus-size tires (suitable for approx. 170-190 cm tall individuals) for riding in summers and winters. In the winter, you can observe the Northern Lights from the beach overlooking the fell. There is storage space for outdoor gear in the outdoor storage room, including two sleds, a ski waxing stand, and an iron. Remote work is possible with WiFi connection, which has a 200 Mb 4G connection. The cottage is also suitable for those with allergies, as no pets are allowed.
